crotch burn...

So I never thought about this in general... or let alone that it would happen to me... but my skydiving adventure has left me with a burn/bruise similar to what you would get in a car accident... only on my inner thigh. Although not nearly as painful as a car accident burn cause i have had one of those... only uncomfortable if you will. But here are some pics... it was amazing. Recommend jumping out of a plane to anyone. Now please be aware of one thing... I am completely aware that my face looks utterly distorted.... but I was falling abnormally fast for a minute of free fall in below zero temperatures. So please don't judge. This is the one time I am just not happy with the fact I have big cheeks.

this could be a farewell blog...

Thank you Mander for making me realize that posting on this blog should be part of my day to day life. So here is a little something that has made me LOL repeatedly. Yes I just used LOL. I went to Costco a couple weeks ago and saw a giant thing of top ramen and calculated that it only cost about 10 cents a pack. Can't beat that... especially when you are planning on going back to school while still having a house payment. So I go to my parents house a week ago and my mom tells me I look pale. And then goes on to attribute the paleness to all the top ramen I have been eating. If you knew my mom... you would know this is completely a normal statement and its why I have been laughing for days about it.

I wanted to say farewell before my trip. Everyone keeps telling me that there is a chance of death for me on this trip. 1. My parachute isn't going to open when i jump out of that plane on monday (dont mention this to my parents) or 2. some creep at a campsite is going to turn out to be an axe murderer or my favorite is 3. mountain lions might eat me.

I will try to post along the way to let you know that I am in fact alive and spread the joy about the wonderful adventure I am on!

Celebrity Look Alike - I sure don't see it...

Does any one else out there get told that they look just like someone all the time? It all started about six months ago... someone that knew me said, "you know who you look just like?" I was secretly hoping they would tell me Katie Holmes in her Dawson Creek days cause I had a small obsession with Joey Potter at one point in my life - long ago. But the person is... maggie gyllenhaal. Hmmmm... never thought of that one before EVER. But over the past six months I have probably had over fifty people at work stop me dead in my tracks and tell me I look "just like this actress... can't remember her name. Do you know who I am talking about? She was in Stranger than Fiction?" Does anyone else see this cause I don't!

I participate in connect four tournaments...

Thank you Adam for being one of those people who follows Kanye's blog... without it we might not have ever re-discovered the game of connect four. Yesterday we had a connect four duel with some of our friends... you could call me the Beyonce of connect four... Cause I pretty much dominated the night. It was a great discovery of a game I have not played in years!

Worst Idea Ever...

Somehow I jumped on the bandwagon of giving up soda and candy. At least this is a contest to see who can go the longest and $60 could be mine if I win. But I was not really paying attention one night and before I know it I am betting that I could go the longest... me... Samantha Marz... who drinks the equivalence of at least six cans a day. Bad idea. So today is day one. No headache because I have been popping exedrine pills like candy... going to have to slowly cut back on those. So for those of you who spend any time with me... don't tempt me. I am currently in a weak state without my diet coke. I don't even know who I am anymore.

I have time to actually keep some new years resolutions...

They say that you should tell people your resolutions and goals for the year because it keeps you more accountable for actually doing them... so here I go...

1. Read the gospel doctrine lesson and relief society lesson each week before going to church
2. Make a plan to go back to school
3. Get my creative juices flowing again
4. Buy a sewing machine and actually learn how to sew.
5. Actually learn how to use my fancy camera and take more pictures
6. Learn how to use photoshop
7. Work on family history... actually get names ready to go to the temple
8. Travel at least once out of the country
9. Find a job that actually makes me use my brain
10. Move into my own bedroom at some point
11. Keep in better touch with friends
12. Start to live the life I imagined for myself - live it for me!
13. Cook more - try making new things
14. Do my laundry when the basket gets full... not when it explodes
15. Spend more time with my famliy
16. Finish painting my house

Hopefully this year will be one of change for me!

I write poetry...

So this poem stemmed from Vicki's theme of the new year... find a mate in 2008. When one in the morning rolls around the theme turns into a poem that makes you laugh harder than you ever thought possible. So here is what Vicki, Natalie, Tyler and I came up with for our ode to 2008.

Need to find some bait
to locate a date named Nate
from what state? Connecticate
to be your eternal mate
to take you through heavens gate
and honeymoon destinate in Kuwait
and get a great hotel rate
in 2008
it is your fate
its going to be great
otherwise your too late
competitors we must hate and annihilate
like Shareston and Kate
by making them gain weight
because of what they ate (poo)
no longer will they be a candidate
(because they ate poo)
